焱 "Yan" Bee Hoon (Redhill)

焱 - This letter is read as "yàn" and it means "flame of fire" (火花，火焰) which literally refers to the stall for having very good business as the "fire" burns (the cook just keeps cooking).

As you can see, there is always a queue at the stall and this occurs probably due to the reasonably low prices of the Bee Hoon, fried noodles and other food to go along with. The taste of the food is also good and they are not stingy about the food portion which is considered quite filling.

With a total different atmosphere, Ben & Jerry's is located at Dempsey and over here, it feels cosy and is good to chill out with friends and enjoy the ice cream. On Fridays and Saturdays, they do have band performances. Do come early as it is usually quite crowded on weekends.

Blood donors play an essential role to many people! By donating blood, lives of an accident victim or someone who undergoes a major surgery could be saved! Our blood consists of red and white cells, platelets and plasma that are useful to the patients in many ways.

Who is eligible to donate?

• Age between 16 and 60 years old
• Weighing at least 45kg
• A haemoglobin level of at least 12.5g/dl
• In general good health
• Should not have symptoms of infection (sore throat, flu, diarrhea, etc) for at least 1 week
• No fever for the past 3 weeks

Cheng Mun Chee Kee Pig Organ Soup 正文志记猪什汤大王 (Lavender)

Well-known for its pig organ soup that comes with salted vegetables, tofu and a mixture of pig's kidney, liver, meat and intestines. If you are uncomfortable with such mixture, could order all meat balls for the soup.

Another specialty food item of this shop is the Black Vinegar Pork Trotters, which is cooked with black vinegar and ginger. It tastes a bit sour and traditionally, is known to be good for mothers who are on their postnatal confinement.
