Itacho Sushi 板長寿司

Itacho Sushi never fails to attract long queues outside their doors. Their first outlet was opened in Hong Kong before expanding their operations to Singapore. It was our first dining experience at Itacho Sushi and the food was definitely worth the spend.
Up to 60% off, their sushi is value for money!

3 types of Salmon and Skin sushi that I'd definitely order. Must order!

New Lane Hawker Center / Lorong Baru (Penang)

When Yuni and I were in Penang, the locals told us to visit the new lane hawker center for dinner. The place consists of many food stalls that are opened along Lorong Baru which is near to Komtar and Sunway Hotel. We took about 10 minutes to walk there from Komtar.
How to get there?
Address: Lorong Baru Georgetown, 10450 Pulau Pinang
Take the free shuttle bus (CAT City Shuttle) to Komtar and walk towards Jalan Macalister to Lorong Baru (about 10 minutes).

Food paradise along this street
Chicken Wings!
My favorite and I strongly recommend to order.
The wings are sugar-coated which are super delicious!

Satay (Chicken) RM1.10 per stick (min 10 sticks)
Satays are well marinated with their special sauce.
Meat is tender and sweet. Recommend to order!
Chicken Rice (RM4)
Hokkien Mee (RM4)
The hokkien mee is different from what we have in Singapore, it comes with the soup.
Ching Teng (RM2.80)
Stingray (RM12)
Popiah
Goh Chew Coffee Shop is located along Lorong Baru and you can order these from there.
Stir-fried beehoon with fried fish
It looks like a simple stir-fried beehoon but it tastes real yummy!

Red Inn Court (Penang)

Where to stay in Penang?
I traveled with Yuni on a budget trip to Georgetown, Penang. It was my first trip with her and to Penang too. We made our reservation at Red Inn Court as their room rate fitted our budget. The hostel is conveniently located in Georgetown, along Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling.
How to get there?
Address: 35B & 35C Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, Georgetown 10200 Penang, Malaysia
Tel: +604 2611 144
Red Inn Court Website
Take Rapid Bus 401 at the bus stop just outside the airport. Bus fare costs RM 2.70 per person.

Alight at the bus stop opposite Jetty and walk about 10 minutes to the hostel. If you miss the bus stop to alight, the bus makes a roundabout and eventually ends up at the Jetty Terminal.

We were greeted by friendly staff when we reached the hostel. Our room was located on 2nd floor and we weren't allowed to wear our shoes to our room, thus we had to leave our shoes at the 1st floor.
Stairs were a bit narrow and steep when we walked up to our room.
We booked the room with Queen size bed and bathroom en suite.
Otherwise, you'd have to use the common bathroom.
Unfortunately, the TV was not in working condition due to some technical issue.
Do remember to bring your own shower items (Shampoo, body wash, toothpaste, etc)
Computer was available at 1st floor for checking my emails.
One plus point about this hostel is that the bus stops nearby (right outside the church) has shuttle buses that travel to 2 different destinations (towards Jetty Terminal and towards Komtar) which I find it very accessible for us. When we asked the whereabouts of some attraction places, the staff provided us the information and shared about the free shuttle bus service. Thanks to the staff, we then knew that we could actually take the free shuttle bus to some places conveniently!

The hostel also provided us with free refill of water.
You can also purchase can drinks at 1st level.
Breakfast was provided to us at no additional cost.
You'll get to choose from bread and jam, nasi lemak, fruits, etc. There's free flow of coffee and tea.
Early birds like us, got to eat the nasi lemak (while stock last).

Where else have I been in Penang?

It has been a while since Mayu left for the States. We had a few meet-ups and one of them was the dinner at Antoinette that is located at Penhas Road. It didn't dawn upon me that such a restaurant was opened in the area. Antoinette contains elegant interior and furniture that set the romantic atmosphere.
