Buying Physical Gold from UOB

Buying physical gold can be considered as an investment to me. To buy gold from UOB, you need to have a UOB account (with effect from 30 Nov 2023). You can check the gold prices from UOB website.

Buying physical gold can be done through online or walk-in. With UOB account, I buy the gold online to secure the gold price before making a trip to UOB to collect the physical gold.

1) Through UOB internet banking, under Investment, select Gold and Silver
Select the weight of the gold (eg. Argor cast bar 100g)
2) Ensure debiting account, input your mobile number or email to receive order confirmation, and click "Confirm"
3) After clicking "Confirm", the purchase is processed.
4) You will receive an email from UOB on the gold order number. Collection of physical gold has to be within 5 working days from date of purchase. Otherwise, UOB charges late collection fee. Bring along identification document (NRIC or Passport) to collect during bank hours.
5) During collection, you will be given the receipt, your physical gold and a small UOB bag to contain the gold. Ensure that the gold serial number tallies with the number indicated on the receipt.

Physical gold purchased from UOB can be sold back to UOB if you are a UOB account holder. Do retain satisfactory invoices of purchase, ensure gold coins or bars are in good condition (solely determined by UOB) and UOB seal must be intact.
